Scholarship Applicant Privacy
We understand that scholarship applications often contain sensitive personal stories, academic records, and financial information. To protect applicants, we follow these principles:
- Confidential Review: Application materials (essays, transcripts, recommendations, etc.) are only shared with designated staff and scholarship committee members involved in the selection process.
- Limited Access: Only individuals who need access for application review, communication, or verification purposes will view applicant information.
- No Public Disclosure: Personal application details will not be shared publicly. If an applicant is selected as a scholarship recipient, only the information they consent to share (e.g., name, school, award recognition photo) will be published.
- Data Retention: Application information is stored securely and retained only as long as necessary for scholarship administration and reporting requirements. Unsuccessful applications will not be shared or reused.
- Parental/Guardian Consent: Applicants under 18 must have a parent/guardian involved in the application process and may be asked to provide consent for the use of their information.
